eLearning combines the use of electronic resources with a contemporary approach to learning. The development of eLearning in schools is a stated priority of the Sydney Catholic school system, where technology is effectively used to enhance learning outcomes across all stages of the curriculum using the iLE@RN framework. Sacred Heart is a 21st century learning community where teachers aim to incorporate appropriate eLearning strategies to enhance rich and relevant learning outcomes and engage students in contemporary, collaborative and creative opportunities.The staff at Sacred Heart are provided with opportunities to engage in valuable Professional Development in order to achieve deeper student engagement, participation and retention through effective classroom teaching and learning. The school currently consists of several MacBook trolleys, iMacs, iPods and iPads that are in circulation throughout the stages, while all classrooms are fitted with interactive SmartBoard technology.
